Vintersol Traditional Cache

Vintersol is a rehabilitation center for people with rheumatic or neurological diseases or injuries Los Christianos.

The story began in the fifties when two Swedes who were sick, came down here to see if they worked better in the warm climate of Tenerife. It turned out that the climate was very positive for their situation, and they settled in Los Christianos.

These two began to work both Swedish and Spanish authorities to built a rehabilitation center, but it was a long and tiring process.

Gradually began construction of the first house of the locals called Casa guas and it was completed in 1963. This is where Svenska Kyrkan/Den Norske Sjomennskirken is today.

At the same time, they started to build Center, and in November 1965 Vintersol were inaugurated.

The facility is 12,000 squaremeters, and houses are one or two stories. There are two swimming pools. The whole plant is of course disabled adapted.

Vintersol was built by the Foundation Vintersol who also operated center for the first 25 years. Then took the foundation Humlegarden SL operations, but today run the plant of the Spanish company Humlegarden SL.

The cache is small and contains a logbook and two small pencils. Advise you to bring something to write with.
