You have been employed at the National Science Observatory for the previous twenty years, where you work the night shift. Your role is to maintain and monitor the various instruments that have been installed to detect interesting anomalies happening in space.
As usual, you are extremely bored as most of the time nothing happens, and you just get to sit around and stare at machines all night. This gives you lots of time to do things like play computer games and surf the internet and update your status on all the social media sites you use.
These last few weeks, you have been spending some time reading about interesting number combinations. This is partly because you had breakfast with some friends that started at 07:08:09 on the 10/11/12, and partly as you are having lunch with the same friends next week and are meeting them at 12:12:12 on 12/12/12.
Tonight, your quiet moment researching numbers is disturbed by one of the digital receivers suddenly reporting a strange sequence of lines. You rush over to the machine, and see 5 lines of information repeating over and over.
The details seem vaguely familiar, but you can't quite identify where you recognise this from. You hit the print button and wait for the printer to spit out the information. As it finishes, you notice that the lines of information are coming quicker and quicker, and suddenly the receiver, monitor and printer all explode right in front of you.
You manage to grab the pieces of paper that fly out of the printer, but realise that although you have all 5 pages, the order has become mixed up, and you are not sure if they are even all the correct way up anymore.
You hear over the emergency broadcast system that several alien spacecraft have been seen attacking key military and scientific installations. The armies of the world are doing what they can to defend earth, but are overwhelmed by the alien's powerful spaceships. Many of the other scientists reported receiving the same information you did, but none of them was able to get a full copy of the strange broadcast.
There seems to be some consensus that the details refer to a specific location on the earth, but no one has been able to work out where it is referring to, or why it is important to the aliens. Can you solve the mystery before it is too late?
