Gorky Square was built in the 50s of last century, at the time of construction was the central part of the city on the right bank. The main building of the square is the eponymous theater. Since the mid 90's it is not functioning. There were several regeneration projects theater (for example, the conversion of cinemas in Wedding Palace), but none of them has been implemented.
