Right off the beaten trail. Almost completely handicap accessible
(except the last 20 feet.)
This cache was originally placed by Seeker BP at night on his way
through from a day of caching. It is on the beautiful Mill Creek
Metroparks Bike Path. This path was originally a train line that
ran between Niles and Lisbon and was owned by the Erie Railroad
Company. As with most train lines, when modern roadways became more
plentiful, passenger service suffered. The passenger train service
ended in the 1930's. Eventually all service was ended and the rails
were removed in the late 1980's. Although I've left the original
description that says Niles, it's actually Mineral Ridge. It is
near the Trumbull/Mahoning county line I've refreshed it with some
Hot Wheels cars and some other goodies that the kids should like.
Please remember to leave something of equal or greater value if you
take something. That way it will be a constant surprise, and
cachers in the future won't be disappointed. And PLEASE - make sure
the cache is sealed up well before you place it back exactly where
you found it. It gets wet here in Northeast Ohio, so the cache can
quickly get ruined if even one person doesn't seal it all back up.
