Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Bush Mechanics weekend!!! The idea is for owners of vehicles that go Geocaching to come along and learn some handy skills and gain general knowledge about their vehicles, trip preparation and general planning involved in going on the road to Caching heaven. This event is not just about 4wd and remote rugged travel but also for 2wd and AWD owners to get a good grip on what their vehicles require for safe and enjoyable times in the great outdoors.

The event is to be held at beautiful Roonka Scout Camp on the banks of the Murray river. There is camping, swimming, fishing and canoeing and of course the opportunity to get a few caches along the way!!!

We have booked for Friday night to Monday morning to make the most of the long weekend.
It is essential that you log your intentions so that I can finalise the booking so no-one misses out.

The weekend will also include a BYO everything party Saturday night to celebrate our nation's birthday. There is a BBQ and cooking facilities in the kitchen for us to cook up a storm so remember to bring the lamb chops!!!! Come themed up and enjoy the frivolity.

We have planned to have arrivals on Friday night  and on Saturday, a couple of discussions and demonstrations of bush battery welding, vehicle preparation, trip preparation, essentials to carry, tyre repairs and a getting to know you for the less mechanically minded so that you never get that sinking feeling of  "whats that thingo on the ground under the car????"
If you have equipment to bring along please do and if you have stuff that you are not sure how to use we will be glad to help you make the most of it.

Ladies, this weekend is a great opportunity to become more independant and considering the numbers of you going out alone to find those elusive boxes would increase your comfort factor about that lonely stretch of road!!!!!

I have booked the camp kitchen and as there is a fee for its use I would ask for a small donation to help cover the cost.
There are fees for camping which are $6 per Day per person.
Power is available for campers @ $8 per day
Caravans are $6 per person per day plus $8 per day for power.
Canoes are available for hire and include paddles and life jackets @ $16 per day.
Casual visitors are @ $3 per day.
If you wish to make use of the bunk houses Please contact Roonka bookings direct on 08 8339 3333 weekdays 9-5.

The directions for Roonka are at the following link and it also contains more info about the site itself.
