Geocache Description:

Soon after the Battle of Hubbardton on July 7th 1777. The Amerian Army under Col. Seth Warner retreated over Pittsford Ridge and down this road to Pittsford.  They reassebled in Manchester and a few weeks later defeated the British at Bennington.  The day after the Battle Captain Benjamin Cooley's comany from Fort Vengeance assended the road to the battle field and picked up abandoned arms and equipment to stock their fort on Now US Route #7 just south of Otter Valley High school.  There is a cache at the Monument as well.
