In order to find the cache, you will have to do a little research into the history of Saline and its libraries.
In 1900, a group of civic-minded women decided that Saline needed a community library. The Village Council provided space for the library and the Methodist Church offered bookcases and books. In 1907, the Village Council rooms were getting crowded, so Mrs. William Davenport leased a small building behind the Citizen's Bank, owned by her husband, to house the library.
In 1917, the bank decided to remodel, and Mrs. Davenport donated funds to build a new library building just down the block at 105 N. Ann Arbor Street. Most recently, this building was the Drowsy Parrot, a great place to get a coffee and something sweet to eat, but it is still easy to imagine it as the former library.
In 1967, when this building became too crowded, the Schleh building at 201 S. Ann Arbor Street was purchased and renovated for an expanded library facility. This building had previously been a church, a residence, a mortuary, and a hospital. In 1983, the library became known as the Saline Area Public Library to recognize the funding and usage of the surrounding townships.
The library remained on S. Ann Arbor Street until a building site at 555 N. Maple Road was developed for the newly created Saline District Library, which opened in 1994.
The cache is hidden quite near the newest Library.
