Shawshank Redemption is one of those classic movies always playing on T.V., and it is one of my favorites. For some reason I always want to watch the ending even though I know the outcome. For those that have not seen the movie, it is about the struggles in prison, escaping from the walls of a confined life, and surviving in the real world afterwards.
Red and Andy are the stars of the movie and they become best friends. The end reminds me of a geocache hunt. When Red gets out of prison he searches for a treasure hidden by Andy in Buxton, Maine along a long rock wall. He finds it and they reunite on a long, sandy beach in Mexico. The treasure you seek may not be as easy to find as it was for Red, but may the clues guide you along. The grass fields close at sunset; this is one of the best places to spend the day in the Santa Maria Valley. Have the kids ride a pony over the mound on the weekends, play 27 holes of disc golf; you'll be right next to the first tee. In the words Andy Dufresne, “I hope this cache finds you, and finds you well. “

Andy talks about Zihuatanejo
'When I get out of here,' Andy said finally, 'I'm going where it's warm all the time. ' He spoke with such calm assurance you would have thought he had only a month or so left to serve.
'You know where I'm goin', Red?'
'Nope.'
'Zihuatanejo,' he said, rolling the word softly from his tongue like music. 'Down in Mexico. It's a little place maybe twenty miles from Playa Azul and Mexico Highway 37. It's a hundred miles north-west of Acapulco on the Pacific Ocean. You know what the Mexicans say about the Pacific?'
I told him I didn't.
They say it has no memory. And that's where I want to finish out my life, Red. In a warm place that has no memory.'

Andy asks Red for a favor (altered for geocache purposes including hints)
Andy: Red. If you ever get out of here, do me a favor.
Red: Sure, Andy. Anything.
Andy: There's a big grass field up near Santa Maria, California. You know where Santa Maria is?
Red: Well, there's...there's a lot of grass fields up there.
Andy: One in particular. It's got a long rock wall with an oak tree at the south end. It's like something out of a Robert Frost poem. It's where I asked my wife to marry me. We went there for a picnic and I asked and she said yes. Promise me, Red. If you ever get out...find that spot. At the base of that wall on the north side, you'll find a rock that has no earthly business in a California grass field. Piece of black, volcanic glass. There's something near it, a little more than an arm's span distance, in the drip line as dew trickles down on a cold, foggy morning on the coast.
Red: What, Andy? What is in the rock wall?
Andy: [turns to walk away] You'll have to pull it out...to see.
Please do your best to put cache back as it was for next find. It was stolen once, so be aware of muggle activity and be sneaky.
Congrats to BeeCrzyCachers for FTF!
