The Bagaya Monastery is one of the most beautiful in Myanmar. It was built in 1834 and consists almost entirely of very dark teakwood. 267 mighty teakwod trunks - the largest is 18 meters high and has a diameter of 3 m - bear the entire structure. Please visit not only the top part, but go to the base layer too! The monastery is used as a Pali-School for monks till now.
You come to the peninsula by ferry boat at N 21 ° 51,618 E 095 ° 59,592, and then continue with the coach horses.
