Geocache Description:

On a weekend or holidays I like to go for a nice long walk with my family through Worcester Woods and the surrounding fields in the summer I enjoy picking blackberries by the orchard, finishing with a hot chocolate in the café.

It is possible to catch a bus from town, park on Spetchly Road (however this may prove difficult during term time and office working hours), parking is available at Worcester countryside centre (postcode WR5 2LG) gates open at 5 am and close at 9 pm.

*** This cache has been placed with kind permission of Worcester Countryside Centre, when retrieving this cache please stick to the sides of the field(s) as this area is part of Hornhill Meadows which is a Local Nature Reserve and grazing is a vital part of ensuring that the wildlife value of these meadows is maintained for future generations. They are so valuable because they have been meadows since medieval times, and have escaped modern farming practices and fertilizers. There are also a rare breed of cattle called English Long Horn that graze in these meadows, it would be appreciated that while in these fields with dogs that they are kept under control, every time we have been through these fields we have never had any problems with the cattle and the fields are frequented by many dog walkers passing through on their travels as well. ***

This cache is a small camo bison tube, no pen or pencil, log only so please bring your own. A pair of wellies would be a great addition to your footwear for this section as it can get quite muddy around here at times.

After finding the cache it might be fun if you could find out why this cache is called Green Woodpecker and maybe post a picture as well.
Well done to Soapy Chickens and RattyFella for joint FTF, put another Christmas smile on our Geokid not only did he get his own series for Christmas but also that someone found the one that went live on Christmas Day
