Camo'ed pill container, a few feet off the paved trail.
The South County Trailway is a paved bicycle and pedestrian trail that extends from the Bronx line at Van Cortlandt Park to Elmsford (where it continues as the North County Trailway). Both trailways sit on the right-of-way of the long-abandoned Putnam Division of the New York Central Railroad, known affectionately as "The Old Put."
Along this section, as with much of the SCT, the Saw Mill Parkway is to the west. Here, however, to the east lies the relative tranquility of Tibbetts Brook Park. Tranquil, that is, until an intensely heated soccer game is being played on the fields you can see just beyond the wooded area.
Unless you are entering the trail from the park, the closest access is at the waypoint below. Parking north of Alan B. Shephard Place is by permit only from April 1 to October 31, so please pay attention to the signs. Congrats to Behistun on the FTF!
