The Georgia Geo-Campers are excited to be camping at Hard Labor State Park the weekend of May 18th. Some camping geocachers will be arriving on the 17th to take full advantage of all the *activities being planned for this weekend and to explore the state park.
Hard Labor state park has a verity of camping accommodations including horse campgrounds. Make Reservations today.
Schedule of Events:
7:00pm - Bonfire with s'mores and talking cache at the posted coordinates.
7:45pm - Group Photo (sun set)
8:00pm - Moonlight Kayak Tour on Lake Rutledge (guided) 1st group
9:00pm - Moonlight Kayak Tour on Lake Rutledge (guided) 2nd group
Each Kayak Tour has 10 - 2 seater kayaks (with paddles & life preservers). Each tour consists of 18 participants and the two tour guides. If you would like to participate in a Kayak Tour, please include with your "will-attend" the geonicks that plan on participating.
We will fill up the 8pm tour, then start filling the 9pm tour. If more than 36 people sign up, we will add the geonick to the stand by list in case of any cancellations.
Kayak tours prohibit children under 3 years old. Parks is providing the guided tour and absorbing the $15 per person tour fee. THANKS PARKS!
We encourage pictures of the "fun" at any camping event and hope to see them posted with your "attended" log.
There is a $5 gate fee if you don't have a annual park pass to enter any State Park. Please see our profile page for more information about the Georgia Geo-Campers, facebook page and up coming camp outs.
