Sa Riera Traditional Cache

La riera de Tossa és una típica riera mediterrània, de curt recorregut i de cabals molt variables al llarg de l’any, podent arribar al seu assecatge total en els mesos d’estiu. Igual que passa amb la majoria de rieres, aquest assecatge és fruit de l’escassedat de precipitacions i de l’elevada evapotranspiració d’aquesta època, i es sol veure accentuat per les extraccions que es produeixen en els pous adjacents a la llera.

The stream of Tossa is a typical Mediterranean stream, short-haul and highly variable flows throughout the year and may reach its full drying in the summer months. As with most rivers, the drying is the result of the shortage of rainfall and high evapotranspiration that time, and is often seen marked by withdrawals that occur in wells adjacent to the channel.
