Congrats to Frederickscouter FTF in just 17 minutes from posting!!

I don't mind at all any geocacher helping to maintain the cache (new log etc...). I don't come back to SW Oklahoma too often so a temporary fix is appreciated!

Frederick Oklahoma Radar (FDR) is one of 159 high resolution NEXRAD (NEXt generation RADar) and is part of the National Weather Service (NWS). It can detect precipitation out to about 80 nautical miles of the radar. It provides the radar for all of SW Oklahoma. All local weather stations use this radar to show incoming storms during storm season.

Frederick Radar is surrounded by eight other radars which cover the edge of its range. Those are: North – Dodge City Radar, Kansas; NW – Vance AFB in Enid, OK; West – Oklahoma City Radar; SW – Dallas/Ft. Worth; S – Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX; SW – Lubbock, TX; W – Cannon AFB in Clovis, NM; & NW – Amarillo, TX.

There are six different types of radar images provided off of these kinds of radar: Base Reflectivity, Composite Reflectivity, Base Velocity, Storm Relative Motion, One-hour Precipitation, and Total Storm Precipitation.
