Geocache Description:

St. Peter in Chains is the parish church of Ballymacoda, and lies in the centre of the village.

Ballymacoda has had many names down the centuries. In 1307 it was known as Ballymacod. The name has evolved down the centuries, at various times being known as BallymcCoddye, Ballincody, Ballymacboddy, Bamcacody, and it has the present name since at least 1839.

The cache is a smallish tupperware, big enough for a few TBs, placed in the adjoining car park.
