The party will be at the Woodmen of the World service center 1005 Poplar St. Benton KY between the US Bank and Marshall Co. Library. There is parking beside and behind the building with doors in the front and in back. There are plenty of tables and folding chairs but if your lawn chair is more comfortable feel free to bring it.
River Valley Geocachers was officially eight years old December 5, 2012, but due to how busy everyone is around the holidays, we will have a belated birthday party.
The event will begin with a meet and greet and socializing.
We will be having a Pot Luck chili supper around 5:00 p.m.
*Please post Will Attend logs early or there may not be any food for you.*
I plan on cooking to accommodate the number that have made a "Will Attend" log by Thursday 01-10-13.
GEO.JOE will bring chili (a no bean Chili Mac), however, anyone that is proud of their chili is welcome to bring some and we can have an unofficial chili cook off. If you do not like chili, make sure you bring something for yourself.
Desserts, snacks and finger foods are welcome as well. If you have another dish that you are particularly proud of, please bring it to share.
Bowls, plates, spoons, napkins, crackers & Frito's will be provided so if there is anything else you like to eat with your chili, feel free to bring it and mention it in your log.
Tea, coffee & water will be provided but feel free to bring whatever you like to drink (No Alcohol is allowed at the WOW building). There is a stove and oven if items need to be warmed and plenty of counter and plugins for crockpots.
Following supper there will be a White Elephant Gift Exchange.
The game is also known as Yankee Swap, Dirty Santa, Grinch Exchange, Rob Your Neighbor, Chinese Auction and Thieving Secret Santa.
To participate in the gift exchange bring a wrapped gift with a value of at least $10, (each person who wishes to participate must contribute a gift).
Please make sure it is a gift that someone would want to receive! There have been problems in the past with low value/no value gifts, so lets avoid that –If it is not something that you would be proud of admitting that you are the one that brought the gift, then don’t bring it ; ).
I hope there will be some evening entertainment from members with musical talent, so if you sing and play feel free to bring along your instruments.
