Pirate treasure in Crozet? No way you say – but it’s true! We’ve seen the map. Not enough time to get a photo of the map but instead we were able to take bearings along the axes of the “X” – so all you have to do is plot the intersection and you, too, can find the treasure! One axis is located along the line between N 38 03.625 W 078 42.440 and N 38 03.625 W 078 42.400. The other axis is located along the line between N 38 03.600 W 078 42.410 and N 38 03.630 W 078 42.410.
There are several ways to find the final coordinates - some will solve them at home, others will solve them in them in the field. Certainly some will find the cache without ever solving for the coordinates. For those searching in the field, pay attention to the terrain rating – the cache is NOT on the side of the ravine! No bushwacking should be required. For some of you, there may be an Ah-Ha moment – if so, congratulations! For it is clear you truly understand the concepts of latitude and longitude. Feel free to brag about it in your logs. We’ve included a geochecker – but for you in this category, well, you won’t need it, will you?
