Breaking Bird Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

penguinphloppers: Archiving this one. Alas its protection has been mown down, and not it is sitting there unprotected to get muggled over and over. Here is a picture of the cache container for closure. I am donating the "bird lab on wheels" to "real" birds who might actually take advantage of it.

For future reference, the solve was a matter of converting the birds to their latin counterparts (*Genus species*), then mapping that to a chemical symbol, then mapping that to the periodic table. Image search could be used to figure out the species. There are a few direct hints for disambiguation.

"Snowfluff, what are you watching?!?!"

"Um, it's this cable show, called Breaking Bird."

"Yeah, I've heard about it.  I didn't think it was appropriate for young birds!"

"But I just like it for the chemistry, I'm learning so much! And I'm only 3 months younger than you, Icemoon."

"Chemistry, yeah, right! Just don't get any ideas. And three months is a long time... So who is in this show?"

"Don't you know? It stars Fuscous, though he calls himself Heisenbird. He's your basic honey-eater, but when things get desperate, he starts making some bad seed to make money for his family."

"Yeah, I hear he's real altruistic, that guy."

"He enlists Rufous as a partner. This nighthawk has experience, but no discipline. Then there is N'pper, this foreign ibis, he's great with transportation. And finally Helena. She's the waxbill married to Fuscous. Mom calls her an enabler, but I'm not sure what that means."

"Mom watches this show?"

"Shhhh, I didn't tell you that."

"They all sound like a bad influence to me."

"First, they encounter Bougie. He's in the middle of the thicket, but he's small time, they just don't realize it yet. Once they handle him, they have to deal with Albus. He's a cockatoo with great connections. Then he leads to Richard. Wow, is he full of himself, always preening! He thinks he's the king of the rock. But, behind them all, the real big man is Harry."

"He looks cuckoo!"

"Cuckoo? No, he's an antbird. But crazy, yes! You have no idea, SERIOUSLY crazy! I tell you, west of the border they take this bad seed seriously. You can't mess with them."
