You are searching for a camoed bison tube not in a spuce tree. It may be more easily found in some seasons then in others. Although not on the ground, excess snow could be a problem.
In days of yore, various types of containment measures were incorporated to hold livestock within pastures. As farming measures evolved, some of these ways were set aside and the materials were left to lay where ever. Here is an example of how trees are contained and protected.
