Hiking from the McHugh Creek Trailhead is truly a MAJestic experience. On this particular Tango no Sekku, or Childrens' Day in Japan, akgh519 and coloReido were treated to another unsupervised adventure. The slushy snow that covered the trails receded as the day progressed. The bright sun and blue skies accentuated anything flying above, including several flocks of geese and swans, about a dozen eagles, and one osprey. On the ground, five bull moose and one cow were observed throughout the hike. To akgh519's disappointment, no bears were observed, but a pile of fresh cub scat was found during the day's adventure.
