A Stroll on the Other Side Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Grandma Nan: I think it is only fair to archive this one right now and leave the small spot open to anyone who would like to put a teeny tiny in the area. There is too much unpleasant vegetation right now for the kind of caches I have been putting out.

Geocache Description:

Take a pleasant stroll on the new trail parallel to the Erie Canalway trail in Spencerport. Begin your stroll at the Spencerport Depot and Canal Museum where there is excellent parking. And if the museum is open, explore the exhibits available there. Please do not park on the road and cross private property to access the cache.

The cache is a simple micro, about 800 meters from the parking area, on a new trail on the south side of the Erie Canal. While you are in the area, you can explore Spencerport, a canal town worth the visit and if you have not already done so, you can find quite a few caches both on and near the canal towpath.  The canal towpath is closed between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM, so please be aware of that. The cache is in an area where snow tends to last, so it will only be winter accessible after the last of the drifts melts.  Hope you enjoy this one. The coordinates for this one have been changed because of the improvements made to the area that caused the original cache to disappear. The trail is greatly improved and now there are benches and picnic tables--and improved lighting--and even recycling bins as well as trash cans.
