Gallery Row is an area of Nags Head concentrated with artists of all types. Known for its variety of handcrafted treasures the area abounds with paintings and jewelry to surfboards and designer dresses. There's even original animation art mixed in with an assortment of souvenir T-shirt, seashells, lighthouses and hermit crabs.
Back in the 1980s town officials closed several area streets creating a street fair atmosphere for the first few Artrageous celebrations. Although an important part of the town for more than 25 years the area was never clearly defined nor officially recognized until recently.
Gallery Row now has signs to mark the area and this cache is near the center of the district. Permission granted for this GeoCache placement.
