This is our first Geocache we've hidden, and coincides with a years anniversary of being together. I made the Cache myself, though admittedly have very rusty woodwork skills (not helped by investing in cheap tools! - yes i know "a bad workman ...." and all that) but carved the I showing it is our first, and YnBB to verify it is ours. Saw how expensive the ones were similar to this to buy, and decided it'd be better to make an inferior version of my own. This was a lot of fun.
We stayed at a rather grand hotel easily within walking distance of the cache and have since discovered that BB can take her Steak rarer than she thought, but only if it is from there. We also tried Scallops for the first and potentially last time.
Anyway, onto the cache, if you haven't found it and are looking in this section for help, well you won't appreciate my waffle I guess. The easiest way to access this Geocache is from the start of a public footpath just off Yorkersgate, that takes you down the side of a hedge to your right. It may also be accessed from Castle Howard road but we chose not to go that far up. It is a varnished log, with a hinge and small hollowed centre. Though it is quite large, the available capacity isn't, so we ranked it as small. It's location (should the co-ordinates not be exact) is just to the left of the Doggie Doo Doo sign, and the opposite side of the path to the allotments. We didn't actually put it under anything, as in fact it sort of hides itself. It also may be difficult to locate at night, as the path is quite narrow, and there are properties close by.
Happy Geocaching, and hope you enjoy our little creation.
YnBB :)
