Yet Another Old Setter's Park Cache (YAOSPC) number one. (A hide in 'celebration' of 12/12/12.) "The fruit of the spirit is ... patience" [Gal. 5:22] Despite ongoing efforts to inundate this park with geocaches, I managed to cram in another *4* with this series by concentrating on the perimeter.
There are many, many very bad ways to get to this cache. I will provide you directions below on the best way to get to it. It's not the shortest path but it is by far the easiest in that it minimizes bushwacking. Maybe some day I'll convert this from a traditional to a letterbox hybrid.
Due to the nature of the container, I'm concerned that the log could be susceptible to the elements, therefore, if you have a way to extend the container, please feel free to do so.
The easiest approach to within 145 feet of ground zero (GZ) with minimal bushwacking follows. Go to GCTZ0N, a.k.a., "A Bug's Life". There's plenty of nearby parking. Head North through the tall weeds, keeping the strip of trees on your left. Watch for a path to open up to the left. Take the path through the strip of trees and bushes. Head West through the tall weeds. Before you reach the next strip of trees, you should see a faintly visible path in the weeds. Turn left, heading South on the path. This path becomes a full blown trail once you reach the woods. Watch for an URP just off the trail, to your left, 145 feet from GZ. At that point, you're on your own but I'll just add that there's no need to cross the creek.
