This is near the site that many, many eras ago used to be an old dump. People would bring their garbage of all sorts and back their rig up to the top of the hill, and dump it. Minus all of the dumped stuff, the view of the Pit River was beautiful from here as it overlooked an area near the Big Eddy. Back in that day there wasn't the "modern" service of having one's garbage picked up and hauled away. For a kid, those periodical trips to the dump were kind of fun...because you could check out everyone else's dumped stuff. You know how it goes.."one man's junk can be another man's treasure"! If you still haul your own garbage do you still check out all the stuff that is dumped (LOL)?
