Geocache Description:

Short walk from Tyrone Solar Observatory.

You're looking for a brown plastic coffee can at the base of a large rock formation and covered with a rock. This is near the ruins of the Tyrone Solar Station. This station was in use from 1938 to 1946. This was a Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. A picture is available online at: http://siarchives.si.edu/history/exhibits/pictures/smithsonian-astrophysical-observatory Short easy hike to the cache. Just over the hill. This is desert. Be aware of plants and critters that can harm you. Road may become difficult after a hard rain.
