10 Years of Queensland Geocaching Picnics Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Captain Terror: Nearly five years on site this one has served the purpose of reminding us about the years gone by and early days of geocaching. Again it has been taken by floods, well over three metres deep here this time. A LOT of silt has been dumped around the area and left it far more 'icky' than ever before. Combined with newer traditionals that are found more often in the park, I am prepared to let this one go.

A kind thanks to all who celebrated the ten year anniversary event or have found this geocache since. May this make way for something.

Geocache Description:

This cache was published in conjunction with QLD Geocachers Christmas Picnic 2002 - 10 Years On event. This geocache is dedicated to a geocache that was originally hidden but a few metres away in 2002.

Late 2002 the first ever geocaching event in Queensland was held (QLD geocachers Christmas picnic 2002) in this park and on that same day, a geocache hidden here (Queensland GeoPic1).

Unfortunately that geocache went missing due to floods in late 2007. As I held the ten year anniversary event, I have resurrected the geocache in this spot. You'll note the co-ordinates are not far away at all and you could visit the original spot if you please. You are looking for 150mm long PVC container, appropriately labelled.

Have fun!
