Geocache Description:

The Hiker's Boot cache is our first, named after the Hiker's Boot TB that is starting here. Your hike to this cache will be on trails in the oak tree covered hills and meadow "hinterlands" of Shiloh Regional Park, and will be about 2.2 miles one-way, with some ups and downs, depending on route choice.

If you love to hike, this cache is for you, as it is hidden in a very scenic area. There are lots of oak forests and other trees, as well as canyons, rolling hills, and meadows. Back here you no longer hear the traffic on Hwy 101. The picnic tables, in 2022, have been moved uphill along the trail about 300 feet. Bring a snack and beverages, you will have deserved it by the time you get here! Be aware of poison oak, it is literally everywhere in this park.

To get to this cache, you may want to print a trail map of Shiloh Ranch Regional Park from the Sonoma County Regional Parks website.If you plan your hike well, you will be able to bag several other Geocaches that lie on the perimeter and other trails of Shiloh Ranch Reghional Park. Several different loop hikes are possible in this park.

Be aware that current County Parks rules do not allow dogs on trails, and during the rainy season, some trails are posted as being off-limits to horses and bikes, including the Canyon Trail that this cache is on. Foot traffic is allowed year-round.

After the October 2017 fires burned through Shiloh Ranch Regional Park, our custom crafted cache hide was destroyed and has been replaced. See the hint for how the hide and cache container have changed due to recent conditions.
