Geocache Description:

This cache is located close to the start of the Loch Trool circuit at Caldons, the former camp site. The cache is located near to the notice board which explains about the Southern Upland Way, Bruce's involvement in the Battle of Glentrool and the martyrs tomb associated with the Covenanters.

This cache is located close to the Caldons car park at the start of the Loch Trool circuit - a walk of approx 6 miles in length. It can be done all year round and is one of my favourite lowland walks in the area.  The cache is located close to the notice board for the Southern Upland Way, Bruce's history in the area and a martyrs tomb for the Covenanters. The path has been recently upgraded and can be easily walked in trainers. Congratulations to Pooter for FTF Please note although forestry operations are underway at Stroan Bridge - this whole route is open and available
