Geocache Description:

A traditional style cache that can be found while strolling around the lake.

Berwick Springs Lake and surrounding parkland are largely all that remain of The Springs, once a fine grazing property established by the Greaves family of pastoralists and businessmen in the 19th century. (The Springs homestead, a grand residence built in 1903 by Edwin Greaves, can still be found perched on the hill amongst the surrounding new houses).
Well populated on a sunny day, with locals making good use of the playground, picnic areas and walking tracks.
A popular fishing spot too, as the lake is regularly stocked with fish.

This cache, the first that we’ve hidden, is named after Jay’s brother Karl, who introduced us to Geocaching and provided us with our initial caching supplies.

GZ can be a high muggle area at times, so please use discretion when retrieving and returning the cache.
