Geocache Description:

A puzzle cache where you will need to know some Morse code.

For this cache you will need the following:

UPDATE 2014/10/13!!!! Due to criminals using the path as an escape route, nearby home owners do not want the entrance to be cleared up. As a result the path will only get worse over time. There is a strong neighborhood watch in the area, and you may get a visit from the security company if deemed suspicious. The final coordinate may move. Apologies for bad maintenance.

1. Pencil and notebook to write down Morse code.
2. At least one liter of fresh water. Two liters is much safer.
3. Sticky tape. (Any type will work, but insulation tape will be best.) Otherwise, chewing gum, Prestick or simply five extra fingers from a team mate.
4. A bit of practice in Morse code will be helpful.

The co-ordinates given is where you start. At this location there is a white box that will play the co-ordinates for the final location in Morse code. There is a visual and audio indication, but to get it going, you must figure out where to put the small magnet that is hidden just below the box. When the magnet is in the correct position you will see lights flash and hear a musical tone. Right after that, co-ordinates will be played in Morse. I made the Morse generator with two lights, one for "Dit" and one for "Dah."

You need to get 14 digits in Morse. The co-ordinates is in the format of “dd mm.mmm.” The order of the digits is from left to right without the latitude and longitude indicators. i.e. you will need to put the digits where the “#” symbol is.

S## ##.###
E## ##.###

As a tip, the first two digits is a 3 and a 4. Thus S34 ##.### Morse digits look like this, where a “dit” is a round dot and the “dah” is represented by a dash or short line.
Please see attached picture for Morse code.
1 = dit dah dah dah dah
2 = dit dit dah dah dah
3 = dit dit dit dah dah
4 = dit dit dit dit dah
5 = dit dit dit dit dit
6 = dah dit dit dit dit
7 = dah dah dit dit dit
8 = dah dah dah dit dit
9 = dah dah dah dah dit
0 = dah dah dah dah dah

As you can see, every digit have five “pulses” so it is easy to know when a digit is finished. There is also a Morse code sheet on the box for reference. The code will be played 12 times with a musical tone ladder at the end of every repeat. If you need more time, remove the magnet and wait about 5 minutes before you can try again. Please put the magnet back when done.

The final co-ordinates is at the end of the street you are in and within easy walking distance. Go straight past the swing. The path is a bit overgrown, but you may find a Knysna Loerie on the trail. Remember the water and other goodies - you will need it!

At the correct co-ordinates you will see a white PVC tube. DO NOT PULL IT OUT OR REMOVE IT IN ANY WAY. DO NOT DIG EITHER. THINK WATER. Now figure out how to get the container. Be quick or clever about it – your choice, but remember I won't make it easy in the end. Leave everything as you find it.

Notes: The Morse generator is in a front yard with permission of the owner and accessible from the road. Please respect his property and privacy and do not enter the property. This is a safe quite neighbourhood, but still in South Africa, so be safe and responsible with your valuables. You never will have to climb any fence or gate. The path is currently a dead end, but feel free to explore the area. Do not share co-ordinates in your log. Although I took many readings to get accurate co-ordinates, the area is under trees and likely to be out by a few meters.
