Geocache Description:

This is a brief tour around the Cathedral Close. As Bill Bryson said, "There is no doubt in my mind that Salisbury Cathedral is the single most beautiful structure in England and the Close around it the most beautiful space". We certainly agree and hope you do too.

The cache only has room for the logsheet so bring your own pen. This is version 2 after version 1 was repeatedly muggled.

The co-ordinates take you to Malmesbury Gate where your quest begins.

1. From the starting co-ordinates, look up at the plaque. What year did Edward III grant the building of the Cathedral and the Close? Year = 1A31.

What year were the three protestant martyrs burnt at the stake? First plus last digit of the year = B
