Kilcredan Traditional Cache

Kilcredan is bounded in the south by the Atlantic Ocean, and lies between Caple Island and Ballycotton Bay.
The ancient church is remarkable in many ways, unnoticed until you enter the ruins. An impressive funerary monument lies within, presumably of a member of the Tynte family, former proprietors of the local castle.
The graveyard is equally impressive. The biggest headstones you will ever witness are here, and all in outstanding condition. Remarkably, all the headstones are erect. Some of the inscriptions are over 400 years old.
The cache is a small camoflaged plastic container, and there is no need to enter the church grounds to procure it, it is located by the perimeter wall.
