Geocache Description:

This cache is the fourth of a new series that takes you around the pathways around the now used fishing lakes that originally was the site of some of the major mining of iron ore within the Furness peninsula. Please be aware a good pair of walking boots, or wellies are required as the paths can be very boggy. Please be aware that dogs are not alound under the rules of the FFA clubs. Please bring your own pen for this cache you will find the log in a plastic bag please replace.

If you had walked from No 16 (RH3) you will have walked around the North end of Burnhole on the road track and then back on the path ways along the side of Burnhole and between the two Paddy pits hidden within the trees on the walkway to finally see Low pond in front of you. Again I had seen the flooded tree waters between the lakes but had not known these where disused pits. The area out of the trees are the pegs to fish Low pond which are a very nice place to sit and watch the world drift by in the summer but in the winter are iron ore mud holes.
