Hello, my name is glorieme, and I'm a cachaholic.
Step Three: I have made a decision to turn my will and life over to the power of caching as I understand it.
My friends, practicing Step Three is like opening a door which appears locked and secured shut. All you need is the key and - well - the willingness to open it. In Step Three and beyond - we must act. How is this done, you say? To every worldly and practically-minded beginner - or newbie, we say - this step looks difficult. Fortunately, we who have tried it, and with equal misgivings, can testify that anyone, anyone at all, can do it. Rather than turning our lives over to a definition of caching that leads us through someone else's door - someone else's game, you might say - we have opened our own door and turned ourselves over to our own understanding of it. Do you define yourself by numbers or goals? Is it just that one, unique location you strive hours for, or do you need to feed your craving for double and triple digits? And who are YOU to judge? Each fragment says to the others, "We are right and you are wrong." Every such pressure group, if it is strong enough, self-righteously imposes its will upon the rest. Once we have come to this realization, we can pause, take a quiet minute, and in the stillness simply say, "Grant me the serenity to accept the caches I cannot find, courage to find the caches I know I can, and wisdom to know the difference."
