Geocache Description:

Welcome to “The 12 Days of Cachemas” !

Inspired by the song, and by a similar cache series I saw when I was up near Thunder Bay, I have placed twelve caches, which will be released one by one starting Dec. 25, 2012.  Each cache starts off with the swag that is bolded on the following list:

On the twelfth day of Cachemas my true love gave to me:
Twelve cache essentials,
Eleven mini compasses,
Ten pretty pictures,
Nine paper stars,
Eight fishy stickers,
Seven nice erasers,
Six small magnets,
Five golden glitters!
Four origami boxes,
Three ladybugs,
Two flashlights,
And a Second Cup card for the First to Find!

This twelfth cache is a puzzle cache who’s coordinates can only be determined by collecting one number from each of the other caches, so make sure you write down the number from each cache you find, as well as which number goes with which cache.  The coordinates listed publicly for this cache are for suggested parking. This is metered parking near The 1st Day of Cachemas. The cost is Mon-Fri $1.75/half-hour, $15 max; Sat $7 flat rate; Sun $5 flat rate. You can follow the caches roughly in order from 1-12 if you park here, or you can park at the plaza at the NE corner of Keele & Steeles and start with cache #3. Either way, you will enjoy a nice walk through York University and surrounding areas and get to know the campus, and then end up in Black Creek Parkland. (An option for those without cars is to take the 196 Rocket bus from Downsview station and get off at York Lanes OR the 60 Steeles bus from Finch and get off at Keele & Steeles.)

Look for caches 1 through 11 in this series to get the required numbers.  Each number you will need is written in red at the very beginning of each logbook.  (There is also one symbol in one of the logbooks instead of a number.) Once you have all the numbers, here is the order they should be in:

N 43      8th, 10th, 11th, 6th, 7th, 3rd cache puzzle number.
W 079   1st, 2nd, 5th, 9th, 4th cache puzzle number.

What could be in the twelvth cache?  Unactivated Travel Bugs, ready-made caches, Geocoins...?  Solve the puzzle and find out!  Please make sure you trade even or trade up! There are some exciting things in this cache and I would like to keep it that way even after the original 12 items have gone. :) Also, please only trade for ONE of these original 12 items, to spread the Cachemas spirit to as many people as possible.

Note: you may need to sit and/or crawl to retrieve this cache. Please don't fall in the creek! Also, the cache size is in-between small and regular. During the summer months, beware of Giant Hogweed, Wild Parsnip, and Stinging Nettle. It is definitely a bushwhack in the warmer months. During the spring, fall, and winter, there is a slight foot-trail that you can follow pretty close to GZ.

Special thanks to CacheShadow for working with me to release this series in this fun way! :)

Have fun, and happy Cachemas!
