The Utuhina Stream Walk is in the Utuhina section of walkway. Here, pathways tend to follow suburban streets and duck in and out of public parks, before settling back into a more identifiable network of paths..
This multi is an easy offset. It replaces another multi that was based in this very same location (Fairway Down – GC2X2JM). From waypoint 1, follow the track markers below the bridge and along the stream to the final location. Have a seat on one of two benches, and watch the water flow by. Keep a wary eye on the water. There may be trout, and fishermen, and golfers to contend with. The walk will bring you out onto Devon Street, across from Rotorua International Stadium.
This cache combines two ‘bloke’ activities: fishing and golf. Here is a good opportunity for any blokes out there to spin some yarns, ‘The one that got away’ and the time you shot ’10 under-par’ will be acceptable cache logs… I will believe you!
DESCRIPTION:
At waypoint one, look closely at your surrounds for the BRIDGE NUMBER. It is the same two-digit number spray-painted in several locations. Use this number and your maths skills to calculate coordinates for the final.

Please do not moan about the lack of parking spaces in the vicinity of the cache (this was a problem for the Fairway Down Multi also). The ideal way to complete this cache is by taking the full 26km walk. However, if you must drive; parking is available off Devon Street at S38 09.202 E176 13.614. You will need to walk a few hundred metres to the cache starting point, but should be well placed to pick up other caches nearby.
The cache is a camouflaged pill bottle. Please extract and return carefully. You must bring your own writing tools. Please exercise extreme stealth, as this is a very busy area and people are sure to appear when least expected. The area around the cache is fragile and could be easily damaged by careless bush bashing. Please avoid damaging this environment. As there is a water hazard, keep a watchful eye on small children.
