Geocache Description:

A cache to celebrate us completing one year of Geocaching!

The Cache is not at the above listed co-ordinates... however you will need to travel here to get to Ground Zero.

This cache was placed to celebrate 1 year of us Geocaching... we started just after Christmas in 2011 and we have had the chance to geocache this year in Hawaii, Ontario, and Quebec as well as BC.

While figuring out what type of special cache to place for this anniversary, we had to give it some thought.  Do we place a traditional cache like our ”Baxter’s Loner” (GC3G9AA), “The Men in Black go to Washington” (GC3GCN6), “Pathway Umbrella” (GC3HQRN), “Two Minutes By Yourself and You Feel Shame” (GC3NAQ5) ,“We Always Have Time For a Geocache” (GC3VG5W), or “Burn Victim” (GC3X8NE)?... or do we make a Travel Bug Inn like our “Bridge to Nowhere... TB Inn Colwood” (GC3WB4G)?... After much discussion, we decided this one would be a mystery cache which will make you work for the location...

In order to find the final co-ordinates, you need to do the following;
  1. Solve the Sudoku Puzzle in the images section... note it is rated as a “hard” puzzle.
  2. Travel to the co-ordinates listed here and look at the plaques posted there. Write down the second word on the top plaque (do not use the logo word), third word on the second plaque, the fifth word on the third plaque and the first word on the fourth plaque. Make sure there is not a space between the four words or you won’t be able to decode the co-ordinates. While you are there, take 2 minutes to reflect.
  3. Using the phrase you wrote down as the cipher key; decode the following which was encoded with a Vigenère Cipher. (Google will help you here)
            CETJVOIFUMMWHTFAVWYHCPIRPWMIFDREIDOVS
            LLJACWEORXFTHZFGRFVICILRGINDIGSVLMFVKJMMRPP

  1. Using the Sudoku puzzle, decipher the above phrase pointing to the co-ordinates, and travel to the final location to find the geocache (in a small lock n lock)!
Final co-ordinates should get you 3m away from the cache.

Thanks for letting us experience the world of Geocaching... hopefully we can actually attend some events in the new year and meet some of the people whom have found some of our other challenges and given us some constructive criticism.

There is a prize of $2 for the First to Find!

You can check your answers for this puzzle on GeoChecker.com.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE A-TEAM AND THEG-FORCE FOR BEING FIRST TO FIND!
