Gabion weirs were put into place to stop the drainage of the wetlands.
After the completion of the first weir frogs started breeding.
Wetland vegetation also returned as well as birds and other wild animals native to the area.
Please note there is a dirt road that circles the wetland so there is no need to cross the protected area to get to the cache site. A slightly raised vehicle is suggested.
