Geocache Description:

**UPDATE 9/26/15** Cache is now a brown painted lock-n-lock and the cache name is no longer relevant to it's hiding spot. I upped the difficulty a notch to reflect this. I have also added a hint.

This cache is located in Birch Hills Park, a "passive" park in the historic Seabreeze area of Irondequoit. There is lots of wildlife in this area - deer and turkeys can be seen in the neighborhood pretty much every day.

In the mid-2000s, a developer proposed to build 12 houses on 23 acres of hilly, wooded land sandwiched between Durand-Eastman Park and a residential area of Seabreeze. The plan was met with a great deal of opposition, and in 2008 the developer sold 20 acres on either side of Birch Hills Drive to the town of Irondequoit to keep "forever wild". Fun side note - the developer in question was arrested one year later, in 2009, for making his own "improvements" to a trail in Durand with a bulldozer.

The cache is a small lock-n-lock. Unfortunately I did not have any trade items with me so it is currently just a log and a couple of pens. On the upside this means there is plenty of room for small trade items and travel bugs.

There is $2 for the FTF! **Congrats Wheelygood!**

There are two potential routes to this cache. If using the parking coordinates, don't let the proximity fool you - while it may look like a park-and-grab, you are in for a steep climb on an unstable hillside. I would say this route will be virtually impossible in the winter.

For an easier but much longer hike, I recommend parking over in Durand-Eastman and taking the scenic walk along Tamarack Swamp, perhaps grab this cache on the way.

Please don't park on the neighborhood streets near the cache - they are narrow and twisty.
