This cache series has been set up to remind people that even lonely two lane roads through a State Park can be dangerous. The caches are set up at various crash sites throughout the Park, most of which are wounded trees. Please approach these caches at your own risk, with the clear knowledge that each of these places have been involved in accidents at least once.
We have more accidents at this particular spot of the Park than anywhere else. The good news is that most of them are relatively minor, due to that the fact that the soft mud cushions most of the impacts. The cache location should be pretty obvious, but getting it out may be a different story. It will likely require a special tool and partner to safely retrieve this cache. You may also need mudboots to retrieve the cache. The D/T rating is based off the special tools needed, the frequent presence of water, and the fact that you are taking your life in your hands going for this cache. I recommend you park in the nearby back entrance to waterville. BE SAFE!
