Following on from our series of caches along stage 1. Stage 2 of the Greytown-Woodside Trail is now complete. The distance of this section is 2.2km making the total walkway/cycleway to Cotter Street 4.6km. The trail follows the old Greytown to Woodside branch railway (1880 - 1953). Running through farmland, stands of heritage trees and native plantings, with beautiful views of the Tararuas. The trail is wheelchair accessible. Dogs must be on a leash and it is unsuitable for horses and motorbikes.
On Saturdays there is a regular parkrun event (5km walk or run) that starts at 8am at the Woodside Station end of the trail.
20/11/25. The cache has been replaced with a small pill container. Please re-hide it exactly where you found it and bring your own pen.
As usual please watch out for muggles who might also be using the path.
