Geocache Description:

Long ago Indians lived throughout Pennsylvania. The NANTICOKE TRIBE lived primarily throughout Maryland but some lived here. This cache will take you to two tributes to the Nanticokes. Both are easily reached.

Honor the nearly-forgotten NANTICOKE INDIANS by finding the two parts of this cache. The Nanticokes lived here from 1721 - 1748.

SITE#1 is the location of a large and interesting Indian relic. Who brought this relic to its current location?? His photo is posted here in case you might recognize him!

SITE#2 N40° 13.472 W76° 12.205 Who did the Penn Family grant this land to and how many acres did he receive?

Credit for this cache is on the honor system. Feel free to include photos as long as they don't give away the answers to the questions.

While you are in the area and on these topic - you may want to visit the EICHER INDIAN MUSEUM in Ephrata < N40° 10.899 W76° 11.232 > The museum is open Saturday & Sunday 12Noon-4PM.
