Geocache Description:

According to religious tradition, there are 7 "Guardian" angels.    Rapheal is the fifth cache placed in the series based on these seven angels.

Raphael means “God who heals", "God Heals", or "God, Please Heal"  Many believe that it is derived from the Hebrew word “Rophe”, which means "medical doctor”.   He is not mentioned in the traditional 66 books of the Bible, but is mentioned in the Book of Tobias, which is included in the Catholic Bible.   There he appeared as a man who brought healing to the elder Tobias. It is also thought that he is an angelic mentor and guide to those working within any aspect of Healthcare, traditional or alternative, including those working in any aspect of animal health.   In pictures, he is seen as caring a jug of oil for anointing.   In Islam Raphael is the same as Israfil.

Each of the 8 caches in this series will be located on a guardrail somewhere near the Union, Washington, St. Clair area (thus the name “GUARDian Angels").  Each one of the first seven angel caches will contain a gold number which you will need to write down, along with the corresponding angel name, in order to solve the final and eighth cache in the series called, "The Celestial City". The final should be published on Christmas Day or soon after. Hopefully this series will add a little fun to the general dislike of guardrail caches!

Parking for this cache is directly across the street less than 100’ away.   For your own safety , It is not recommended that you park next to the cache. It is not just quite wheel-chair accessible without help. Please BYOP!
