Geocache Description:

Do not do at night. You maybe mistaken for a poacher. The rangitata diversion race gives great wealth to the mid canterbury district. For most of the year the water feeds off into side canels but in winter the whole flow is sent thopgh the highbank power station.

The cache is located near the outlet of the siphon. The siphon is used to move the water of the canal under the Ashburton river. Do not go near the outlet! Parts of the canal can be walked, its not uphill. Best access is the mountain side although the other side can be walked it is not recommended.

The worst you will come across doing this cache will be cowpats so be sure to watch your footing.
