Have you ever wondered when the 12 days of Christmas actually start and end? I have! Here is the story. The Twelve Days of Christmas are the festive days beginning Christmas Day (25 December). This period is also known as Christmastide and Twelvetide. The Twelfth Night of Christmas is always on the evening of 5 January.

Did you know that Jesus was not actually born on the 25th of December? Scholars and researchers have put his birth at a date in June. December 25th was not chosen for any Christian or Bible related reason. The Twelve Days of Christmas are actually the Christmas season. Retailers have convoluted Christmas for their own purposes of profit and have actually destroyed the meaning of Christmas and confused the actual Christmas season among Christians and even non-believers with their marketing and expanding of the period in which they promote gift giving and purchasing. It might actually benefit them to know that they should be promoting the giving of gifts for TWELVE days instead of one.
