Distinguished Residents of Buckinghamshire #7 Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Birding Bob: I enjoyed putting together this series of puzzles based on distinguished people who have at some time resided in Buckinghamshire, learning something about them in the process. Visiting the caches to remove the containers is a process tinged with sadness but one that brought back many happy memories. Many thanks to those, more than a hundred in total, who took the trouble to solve the puzzles and visit this attractive area to search for the caches.

Geocache Description:

The seventh in a series of fourteen tributes to residents of Buckinghamshire that have distinguished themselves in their chosen sphere. The puzzles are designed to be solvable by anyone familiar with Google.

Person Theta, born in Danville, Virginia, took up residence in Buckinghamshire as a consequence of her second marriage. She established herself as a prominent hostess, attracting the social elite to the large estate on the Thames where she spent her married life. The house, which featured in a notorious political scandal, is now an hotel. Theta is most remembered, however, for gaining a seat in the House of Commons, where she served for twenty-five years on the back benches. An anecdote, probably untrue but worth repeating, reports Theta saying to Winston Churchill, "If you were my husband, I'd poison your tea," to which he responded, "Madam, if you were my wife, I'd drink it."

Theta was born in yABC. She had D children
Theta died on dE mF yyyG
H = C minus D
