According to religious tradition, there are 7 "Guardian" angels. Michael is the sixth cache placed in the series based on these seven angels.
Michael a well-known archangel who strengthens our spirit during difficult times or dangerous situations. His name means "He who is like God." It is believed that he is leader of the armies of heaven and is also the one who leads our souls to heaven. Michael is mentioned three times in the Book of Daniel, once as a "great prince who stands up for the children of your people". The idea that Michael was the advocate of the Jews became so prevalent that in spite of the rabbinical prohibition against appealing to angels as intermediaries between God and his people, Michael came to occupy a certain place in the Jewish liturgy. In the New Testament Michael leads God's armies against Satan's forces in the Book of Revelation, where during the war in heaven he defeats Satan. In the Epistle of Jude Michael is specifically referred to as an "archangel"
Each of the 8 caches in this series will be located on a guardrail somewhere near the Union, Washington, St. Clair area (thus the name “GUARDian Angels"). Each one of the first seven angel caches will contain a gold number which you will need to write down, along with the corresponding angel name, in order to solve the final and eighth cache in the series called, "The Celestial City". Hopefully this series will add a little fun to the general dislike of guardrail caches!
