Geocache Description:

Robin Hood had to start somewhere and so should you. I noticed there wasn't a Robin Hood #1 and found out it was archived. So with permission of AMTG who started this run, I want to re-introduce you to Robin Hood#1. For those who found before, you can log again.

What better OUTLAW than Robin Hood?

Found in English folklore, Robin Hood was known as an archer and outlaw who’s tasks included “stealing from the rich and giving to the poor”. He seems to be from the 12th century where he defended King Richard’s throne from Richard’s brother John while Richard was on the third crusade.
His is reported to have been born a commoner in Loxley and his gravesite is reported to be buried in Kiklees Priory in Mirfield.
His expertise as an archer was said to have been so good that when a competitor hit the bull’s eye, Robin split the competitor’s arrow down the middle. To this day archers call such a shot a “Robin Hood”. It seemed appropriate to place these caches along Archer Road.
His first followers were Little John, Much the Miller’s Son and Will Scarlet. Friar Tuck and Marion seemed to be added at later dates.
What better outlaw for an OUTLAW CACHERS to honor with an Outlaw Escape Trail than Robin Hood?

Now for the cautions…..watch all traffic, watch for wildlife, watch for thorns, watch for barbed wire, watch for standing water, watch for everything. There may be close proximity to the road on some of these caches and the hills may hide traffic. If you do not feel comfortable in any way…do not attempt these caches. THESE ARE NOT KID FRIENDLY!
