Geocache Description:

Placed in relatively new southwestern annex to Young C. A. located near Eureka, MO.
Open from 4am - 10pm.

Respect boundary lines! They are marked with a solid circle of blue paint and occasional white signs that say "Leaving conservation area".

There are no groomed trails in this section of Young C. A. From the parking lot, go north or south around the bluff overlooking Labarque Creek. Either way, you will have to cross the creek by foot. There could be a little or a lot of water to cross depending on rainfall and location chosen to cross. The easier path is to the north if can find the old dual-track trail. The southern route is more challenging, but more fun!

Driving Directions
Young C.A. is located in Jefferson County. To get there, go south on Route W off I-44, then three miles west on Route FF. Parking for this cache is not at the main Young C.A. parking lot (at dip in the road), but at the new parking lot (top of hill - N 38° 25.983 W 090° 40.595) not far from the lot for the Myron Glassberg C.A.

About This Area
Young Conservation Area is mostly forest with native warm season grass fields and old fields. LaBarque Creek, a permanent stream, is known for its high quality riparian ecosystem. The original 970-acre tract was acquired through a donation and purchase by the Conservation Department in 1986. Since then, several additional tracts have been added to the area.
